Turban Noguchi is a popular origami made using a 1000-yen bill.
The technique started with a bill featuring Hideyo Noguchi, noted physician and bacteriologist. By folding the money, you could outfit Noguchi with a turban or other fancy headgear. Our fav is Abe. Of course there is also a YouTube video Check it out…

WHY: Impressive to find that a guy who grew up in London was as influenced by 80s American skate culture as many of us were in the states. D*Face gives up some words of wisdom – “The only thing I can really say is, do what you do from the heart and it will lead you in the right direction.”
Word Clock is a typographic screensaver for Macs. It displays a fixed list of all numbers and words sufficient to express any possible date and time as a sentence. Word Clock displays time by highlighting appropriate words as each second passes.
Word Clock uses the Mac OS typesetting engine which allows for hyphenation and alignment (e.g. fully justified text). You can position and resize the text however you like and can have it displayed in any of the included languages.

WHAT: VEGETABLE – ANP Artist Matt Gordon’s Solo Exhibition at VASF
WHO: Matt Gordon, a Northville Michigan local, was named one of the six “New Generation” Detroit artists by Oakland University. Gordon was featured in Juxtapoz Magazine in 2000, and since then has joined the RVCA Artist Network Program.
WHEN: Opening Thursday February 7th, 2008 at 5pm. The show will be open from 5pm to 8pm and will run until April 1st, 2008.

WHY: Having had a soft launch for the show at RVCA’s HQ in Costa Mesa, California in December 2007, “Vegetable” is now headed to San Francisco to debut Gordon’s “painted reality” to the local community.
